Scope and who is responsible
This policy applies to the BluLexi public website and signed-in beta application. BluLexi determines how information is used to operate the current service. Questions about this policy can be sent through the verified contact route below.
Information BluLexi collects
- Account information, including email, username, full name, password hash, verification state, and Google account identifiers when used.
- Profile information, such as bio, avatar, location, learning languages, privacy choices, follows, and leaderboard participation.
- Learning activity, including placement answers and results, study plans, saved vocabulary, story activity, writing, speaking transcripts and feedback, recordings where supported, mock-exam responses, progress, achievements, notifications, and referrals.
- Security and diagnostic information, including authentication events, hashed email references, IP address, user agent, timestamps, and safe provider or error metadata.
- Session, CSRF, and short-lived browser state needed for authentication, security, and registration continuity.
- Messages you send to BluLexi support.
BluLexi does not store plain-text account passwords. The current beta does not provide paid checkout, so it does not collect payment-card details.
How BluLexi uses information
- Authenticate accounts, verify email, and maintain service security.
- Provide and personalize practice, plans, evaluation, and feedback.
- Save learning progress, vocabulary, achievements, and preferences.
- Display information you make visible through Community and leaderboards.
- Send transactional account and service messages.
- Prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve product reliability.
Public profiles and discoverability
New learner profiles are visible and discoverable to other signed-in BluLexi learners by default. In BluLexi, “public profile” means visible within the authenticated learner community—not an unauthenticated page intended for the open internet or search engines.
Depending on what you add and your settings, other learners may see your name, username, avatar, bio, location, learning languages, goal, aggregate progress, contribution calendar, achievements, recent learning modules, follower and following totals, and leaderboard activity. Your email address, account identifier, exact activity events, answers, writing, recordings, transcripts, and other private learning work are not shown through your learner profile.
You can change profile visibility, individual profile sections, follower and discovery controls, and leaderboard participation under Settings → Privacy and discovery. A public but non-discoverable profile can remain available by direct link to signed-in learners.
Community and leaderboard processing
Community lets signed-in learners search discoverable profiles, follow or unfollow learners, view visible followers, and remove followers. Private learners may still count in follower totals without appearing in a visible follower list.
Leaderboards use eligible XP events to calculate rankings. Leaderboard participation is independent from profile visibility: a participating learner may appear in rankings while their private profile remains unavailable. Turning participation off excludes the learner from current ranking eligibility according to the service’s leaderboard rules.
Learning content and AI processing
BluLexi may send relevant prompts, answers, writing, audio, or transcripts to external AI providers when needed to generate stories, feedback, transcription, placement evaluation, speaking interactions, or mock-exam evaluation. The service is configured not to request provider-side response storage for supported assessment and speaking workflows, but provider handling may also be governed by BluLexi’s provider arrangements.
Do not submit unnecessary confidential, highly sensitive, or third-party personal information in learning content.
Service providers and sharing
BluLexi uses service providers for:
- hosting, databases, private object storage, and background processing;
- Google authentication;
- transactional email delivery;
- AI generation, transcription, and evaluation; and
- operational security and troubleshooting.
These providers receive information used to perform their service category. This provider processing is different from making private learning work visible through learner profiles or Community.
International processing
Service providers may process information in more than one country. This policy does not promise a particular storage location or transfer mechanism. Cross-border handling is subject to applicable requirements, and this section will be updated as provider arrangements develop.
Retention and deletion
BluLexi keeps account and learning information while needed to provide the service, maintain progress and security, resolve errors, and meet legal obligations. Some uploaded assessment media has a scheduled retention deadline; other categories do not yet have one universal published period.
Account deletion removes user-owned learning and social records and private media, disables and anonymizes the account, and strips direct IP and user-agent data from authentication events linked to that account. Limited integrity, security, referral, and unlinked authentication records may remain in anonymized or non-user-owned form.
Security
BluLexi uses authenticated access, CSRF protection, password hashing, private media endpoints, authorization checks, rate limits, audit logging, and restricted storage links as appropriate to the feature. No online service can promise absolute security.
Your choices and account controls
- Edit your name, username, bio, avatar, location, and preferences.
- Make your profile public or private.
- Control discovery, followers, and individually visible profile sections.
- Choose whether to participate in leaderboards.
- Follow, unfollow, or remove visible followers.
- Manage available notification preferences.
- Delete your learner account through Settings.
Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability. Requests can be sent to the contact below. BluLexi may need to verify that a request relates to your account before acting on it.
Children and younger learners
BluLexi is an education product, but the beta has not adopted a universal numeric age threshold. Younger learners should create an account only when their use is lawful and any required parent or guardian involvement is in place. The public-by-default profile setting deserves particular care for younger learners; privacy settings can be changed at any time.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
BluLexi will identify future versions by date and update the last-updated date. Material changes may be communicated in the service or by another appropriate channel. Separate consent will be requested when a new use of information legally requires it.
